Modular Snake Robot

I found this project from Carnegie Mellon's Biorobotics Lab and thought it might be of interest. Specifically, the movement behaviors achieved through the accumulation multiple rotational joints are unexpected. The biological metaphor of the snake operates more in terms of association than by replicating the specific mechanisms of an actual snake. This approach stands in contrast with humanoid robots or projects like 'big dog', which aim to mechanically replicate the capacities of their biological references.
